Philippians — Chapter 4

This chapter is loaded with great verses, “classics” of the Christian faith.

Rejoice in the Lord always.  Again, I say rejoice. — v 4
Be anxious for nothing — v6
.. the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts — v7
.. whatever things are true … — v 8
I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me. — v13
And my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory — v 19

But notice, that once again, Paul focuses on how we think.  Verse 8 spells  out what we must dwell upon

Truth
Nobility
Justice
Purity
Loveliness
Goodness

These are the Christian virtues, which are rather similar to the cardinal virtues of Roman philosophy.

Prudence
Justice
Restraint (Temperance)
Fortitude (Courage)
